The Heart Behind LakePAWse
 
Hi, I'm Dr. Josi Seixas, founder of LakePAWse.
 
I'm a veterinarian from Brazil with a Master's and PhD in Veterinary Medicine, and for more than 20 years I've dedicated my life to improving the health, welfare, and quality of life of animals through veterinary medicine, research, education, and hands-on care.
 
But beyond my professional background, I believe that every dog deserves to be treated with patience, compassion, and respect. Some dogs thrive in a playful pack, while others need a little more space or time, a little more understanding, and a place where they simply feel safe.

That belief became the inspiration for LakePAWse.
​
Before opening LakePAWse, I had the privilege of caring for dogs in many different ways. In Brazil, while working as a professor at the vet school, I volunteered in a dog shelter, gaining valuable experience working with dogs of different personalities, ages, and needs. After moving to Georgia, I began caring for dogs through pet sitting services. Over the years, I have been honored to earn the trust of local families, receiving more than 120 five-star reviews from clients who became friends and entrusted me with their beloved companions. Those relationships have reinforced what I believe is the foundation of exceptional pet care: trust, calm, consistency, communication, and genuine love for every dog.
Today, LakePAWse represents the next chapter of that journey.
 
My dream is to create more than a pet service facility, with daycare and grooming salon. I want LakePAWse to be a place where dogs feel as comfortable as when they are home, families have peace of mind, and every interaction reflects kindness, professionalism, humanized and individualized care.
My faith is also an important part of who I am. It inspires me to serve others with integrity, compassion, and excellence, recognizing that caring for animals is both a privilege and a responsibility. Whether through our pet services, educational resources, or dog & faith-inspired store, my hope is to encourage people to care for their dogs—and one another—with intentional love.

Our History

Why LakePAWse Exists

LakePAWse started the way most good things do — small, and by hand.
What began as a dog sitting hobby for a handful of families in McDonough - GA grew because people kept saying the same thing.
 
That's the whole reason LakePAWse exists today as a dedicated small-breed wellness facility — to give small, senior, and sensitive dogs a standard of calm, individualized care most daycares aren't built to offer, and to give their people real peace of mind while they're away.
